Robotis has unveiled DARwIn Mini: a miniaturized Robot resembling a DarwIn-OP "mini me."
http://www.robotsource.org/bs/bd.php?bt=forum_CM9DeveloperWorld&bt_id=530

The original Darwin-OP can be found in our online store:
http://robosavvy.com/store/product_info.php/products_id/1579

Darwin Mini seems to use most of the components from OLLO line (with Rivet assembly system) and early indications point to it using a new generation of Dynamixel servos, the XL series.
Little (or nothing) is known about the Dynamixel XL series yet except that it should be a "low cost Dynamixel." The controller is also un-confirmed at this point but the early sketches don't show any indication about a webcam or onboard Linux (for the moment at least.)
It is rumoured that it may be using a micro controller compatible with OpenCM (the new name of the former CM-900) meaning it could be compatible with Arduino programming.

Statistics: Posted by robosavvynews — Thu Oct 24, 2013 4:02 pm
