It is quite impressive. I've seen it doing demos where it is able to walk across very rough and uneven surfaces with no apparent problems, and even maintain its balance while people tilt the floor underneath it.

That being said, it is about 10x the cost of a Speecys. The quality/workmanship is superb. The primary (only?) customers so far are research facilities and colleges/universities in Korea.

You must also reboot the system if too many servos move at once. Synchronous operations are impossible... Must apply patches after patches to deter holes in security... the possibilities of things going wrong grows...

My only gripe is with the naming. "URIA" sounds a little too close to what I do in the restroom after drinking down gallons of iced tea.

Hmm, 2 Robot overlords controlling hundereds of people. Sounds like England already!!!

Will there soon be a Robot Big Brother (TV crud) where the housemates are flesh socks and the BB's are Robots!

We have missed out on a very interesting video found browsing through the above link.

Seems like Korea is closer than ever to being dominated by robot overlords. Human school kids have to obey their Robotis humanoid robot masters or else they are humiliated in front of hundreds of their fellow humans and judging by the first few seconds of the video they burn in robotic hellfires.

Looks like images of customer or university projects using Robotis servos from the other photos in the same gallery. The NRX 28 info says 'Singapore', and the poster's email address ties back to the 'A-Main Objectives' online computer store in Singapore, which is apparently where the robot's designation of "AMO NRX 28" comes from.

hi chaps, just checked out robotis website for first time in ages and noticed a few new picks . most interesting is the NRX 28 which seems to be hinted at being some form of robot due for release - not sure of that so dont quote me. also the windows embedded URIA which it stses on the site should hit the us in early next year.
