I like the idea that no matter what robot I bought. I would know already how to program it. You just have to make sure that standards do not limit creativity.

Its because robotics engineers have been thinking the same way about robotics since the beginning, and don't want to adapt to new ways of thinking. Just like every new technology there is resistance first then acceptance. Not so long ago people were put to death for saying the earth is not flat...lol A good idea is a good idea and I think this will be the new standard in robotics. Just imagine plug and play robotics. How amazing would that be

I have watch almost all of the videos and think that he was a lot of good points. We talks a lot about object orientated programming which I wish that I could do with my robonova. I am not sure why the engineers at the conference are so hostile to software developers though. A robot platform like the RN which you program in a object orientated language would be a big boom to robotics.
