Hi all

As you may have noticed, since we migrated RobOSavvy to a new host, we've been experimenting performance issues under heavy load.

With relatively low loads the site seems to run OK but when load rises above a certain level, the server suddenly becomes unresponsive.

We wanted to let you know we are aware of the problem and are working on a fix.

So far we have tracked down and identified the cause of the problem, which is suPHP (the old server was using an older and less secure approach to running PHP but it was fast...).

We are working towards replacing suPHP with FastCGI (a different, much faster PHP handler) but issues with php configuration are still being worked out. Therefore we are not able to make the change yet.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may be causing. We are working hard to find a solution. As I mentioned before, RoboSavvy is a large and complex system a significant amount of legacy code and data and making it all co exist happily is often a demanding task!

If you experience these performance symptoms we recommend you try again a few minutes later.

Regards
Pedro
Statistics: Posted by PedroR — Mon Jul 04, 2011 12:49 pm
