The study of spacing between the two bi-peds seem to have similar effects! I have noticed that while the legs are spaced more that the cg of gravity is wide the returns to narrow at the peak of each step being brought back to allow the other leg raise. To me and this is my thought the space can be good and bad, while stability is greater in ( standard pose ) the whole body will have to move for the step to be completed? correct? This will cause the bot to have a more dramatic move.
Statistics: Posted by NewBreedWarrior — Sat Mar 03, 2007 11:48 pm

Hi Humanoido,

I moved the legs on Bheka apart by 1 hole on each side. It changed the spacing from 8mm to about 12 mm. I really haven't seen any major change in the performance.

Gary
Statistics: Posted by gdubb2 — Tue Feb 27, 2007 5:15 pm

Here's a video of my robot, MicroRaptor, which also has legs farther apart than typical. His walking style is considerably different than the first poster's biped.

phpBB [media]

You can see a lot more details, including other movies and my thoughts on biped walking, on my project page:

http://www.bioloid.info/tiki/tiki-index.php?page=MicroRaptor

- Jon
Statistics: Posted by JonHylands — Tue Feb 27, 2007 3:04 pm

It's possible to move the legs apart farther on RN
by using the adjacent screw holes.
Does this improve anything?
What are the results?

Here's a movie of a biped with extreme leg
spacing.

humanoido
Statistics: Posted by Humanoido — Tue Feb 27, 2007 11:16 am
