I've been looking for a camera for a while now as well. Found this one at Maplin in the UK http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?ITA ... =10m3#spec although its bigger, if you check the spec it runs on a 5V battery built in. wonder if it would be possible to tear it apart and do away with the battery and be left with the wireless interface and the camera!!. Possibly run it straight off the RN-1.
Statistics: Posted by Mikie711 — Sat Mar 10, 2007 8:53 pm

Without something in the photos to give them scale it is difficult to tell if that second one would be small enough. The first one looks promising.
Why try to stuff the camera in the Rn head? Why not just make the camera the head?
You could fabricate a bracket to mount it to a servo mounted inside the body between the shoulder servos.
This is something I have been tossing around since I put my RN together. I am not especially fond of the stock head anyway.
I think several folks have done this already with good success.
BTW, I have been doing a little work with my vacuum forming table to make the backpack a little deeper to accomodate "extras". Once this is done I'll post some pictures. Then maybe start on trying some configurations for a new head.
Tinman
Statistics: Posted by tinman1 — Sat Mar 10, 2007 8:07 pm

Even though I am still waiting for my Robonova, I am thinking a little bit ahead to buy a wireless camera and I have the choice of two, one is 2cm by 2cm by 2cm the other is 3cm by 4cm by 3cm (see images). I would like to know the head dimensions for a Robonova if possible so that I check if the first one fits inside it, if not I will go for the second and put it instead of the RN'a head. One final thing, which servo do you suggest for making the head turn?

The images:

First camera:

Second one:

Statistics: Posted by JavaRN — Sat Mar 10, 2007 12:43 pm
