Gary,

Best of luck with the new project. I hope you'll keep me updated with how it progresses (you know how to contact me off the forum here if needs be). I do know what you mean about being carried down a path, as well as my two humanoids I still have an Aibo, 2 Hexapods and a tracked robotics platform too.

I do hope you have every success with the new project

Pev
Statistics: Posted by Pev — Fri Mar 30, 2007 7:22 pm

Well, with some degree of sadness, I must announce the species reassignment of Bheka. I have been fighting a slow losing battle with myself about what to do. I have had some successes, and some failures in my progression of where I want to be.

My original plan was to be able to build artsy robots. Kind of like dragons etc. But I got caught up in the humanoid thing, so I went full speed ahead with Bheka. A couple of weeks ago, I realized that I just wasn't heading in the right direction. I probably should have got a Bioloid instead of a RN-1, but the RN-1 is such a great robot.

Soooo. I have reduced Bheka to it's individual components and will use the 20 servos, controller, brackets, et al. To make a Quadraped platform to work with. I have enough servos to do almost anything I want, and if robobasic fails me, there's a lot of other options. When I have what I want, I will make it much larger. The plan is a fire breathing dragon about 3 feet long.

I'm planning on attending RoboGames with my combat bot, so I hope to meet some of you there.

"So long and thanks for all the fish" (not really) .. I'll still be hanging around the forum..great bunch of people, and lots of good help here.

Gary
Statistics: Posted by gdubb2 — Fri Mar 30, 2007 4:46 pm
