Bizarre moment!

Let us know what you find. I've prototyped the CMUcam on a spare microcontroller.

The physical size is small enough to mount on the RN although splitting the two boards may be a good idea. It's possible to do that with a ribbon cable. The spare mcu will probably get backpacked.

You can do some amazing things with the CMUcam. I'm working on a software technique to get mine to recognize me.

Also, I'm not planning to hang around on the I/O module & sensory front, and hope to install some kind of vision / speech soon. Will be taking a look around for some cheap PCB/modules/recognition!

Cool. Glad to hear that most people have good kits with no missing parts. Actually, I'd like to have a spares kit included, with some extra screws, bolts, couple servos, and brackets. A spare battery would help too. That way, hitec could discount the cost.

I've been quite lucky, actually. Everything is in the box, and the broken servo is the only thing I've had problems with! I've enjoyed the experience so far, a few moments where things haven't made sense, but other than that. For now I switched the broken servo with another 4 from the kit, so when I hopefully get a replacement, I can just switch it back.

Blimey I am glad I got mine back when the first batch shipped. Everything was in the box and everything worked. in fact, touch wood, in best part of 15 months I haven't had a single failure!!!!!

Sorry to hear about the defective HSR-8498HB. It's been my experience that when assembling kits, there is a 10 to 20 percent failure rate of parts in one form or another. My RN was no different. The kit lacked a major mechanical part (body support frame), was missing the proper screws, was missing the IR detector, and had a defective battery charger. Hitech was totally helpful and supportive, and air shipped the parts to me. The short wait drove me crazy. With all the good parts at hand, assembly went well, and because I read all the posts on the robosavvy forum to learn about the errors in the manual. Well, you'll have your RN up and walking really soon! I'm very happy for you! If you have any questions, just ask.

Hi mate

Kit version. I didn't buy from robosavvy on this occasion, it wasn't personal - although I will probably end up buying other stuff from here in the future.

Only really just started it, and already I have a broken HSR-8498HB - number 4 on the left leg (if my memory serves me), not moving at all- almost as if it has locked completely (have not even used it yet). All the rest are moving some what when I tried moving them with my hands - (some easier than others) - but this little darling don't want to budge at all.

Sending it back to the place I got it for an exchange, hopefully.

It's not a problem. The nice thing is that you can post any question here and no matter how simple or complex, it will be treated with respect. All questions are good ones. It's really exciting you got your new Robonova. Is this the kit or RTW version? How's it going?

Last night I was nothing but tired. I did know about the roman numeral in the first place, but hands down - that was the most hideous post I've ever made

It's actually quite simple. Sometimes people use the decimal numeral 1 (one). Other times they use the Roman Numeral I (one). They both equal the same.

I got my Robonova. But I'm going round the twist or something.

Robonova-I and Robonova-1 are the same models right? I was slightly brain frozen for a second, since I could not work out why most people put 1 on the end, then the others put I. I'm pretty sure there's no difference, but wanted to check? Here I am talking about ANN then getting stuck on a single numeric
