July 07 Robonova Templates

Thanks guys for posting this find. I had the same problem during my attempts of running the new "advanced" code, and I thought my home positions weren't correct. Plus I was a little sad to see my robo moving so fast and getting hurt!

Hi, Billb, Charles:
You guys are so good, I was thinking I need to really consider installing gyros on my RN after tried out the new template.
Now it works well, thanks a lot.

PROBLEM SOLVED & TEMPLATE BUG FOUND

After looking at the Robobasic it looks as though the fast walk move turns PTP off and high speed mode on. But never switches them back. This is a problem because all the other moved need PTP on.

I inserted the following code at line# 264 of the July 2007 Overall template:

PTP SETON
PTP ALLON
HIGHSPEED SETOFF

And it all now works fine.... they are nice additions to the Robonova move library.

On mine not all of them work because of the backpack which is a little heavy, but most of them do work. There seems to be some coding error. If you select the fast moves first (fast run etc), they other commands which require "slower" moves run in fast mode and the result is that these will make your robot fall. My advice would be, either to turn the HIGHSPEED off after the "fast" commands or run the slower ones first.

Has anyone tried to the new templates (posted 6 July 07) in the software download section of http://www.hitecrobotics.com?

The New fast walk and quick turns are great. But most of the others seem to promptly make my Robonova fall. My offsets should be OK (since the Robonova works fine with all older templates).

Do the templates work unmodified on anyone elses Robonova? (or perhaps it is just a problem unique to my Nova ).
