They seem to have a separate charging connector.....?
How is this connected in the pack?
Statistics: Posted by NovaOne — Sat Aug 11, 2007 6:30 pm

are there other things to look out for? I wouldn't like to damage the controller board.

I wouldn't worry. NiMH 6.0v is exactly what your looking for. mAh is essentially how long your bats will last. You won't damage your board (...the board will even run on unregulated 7.4v LiPoly, but the 8498 servos won't!). I believe Tony Ohm from Hitec was using something like the pack you're talking about at robogames.
If you add several more or higher torque servos to the stock RN-1, you'll want to ensure the battery's discharge rate can keep up w/ the power draw from all the servos. It won't necessarily hurt anything on your robot, but may cause the batteries to become hotter than normal, and eventually damage them. Also, you may see large voltage drops when many servos move simultaneously... which can cause the robot to periodically "shutdown". I doubt you'll have to worry about it though. The batteries will probably be just fine. Just thought I should add that just in case.
Statistics: Posted by bauermech — Sat Aug 11, 2007 5:53 am

I found a battery pack - Nimh 5cell 6v 1300mah which I thought can fit my Robonova. Before I buy them and plug them into my Robot, are there other things to look out for? I wouldn't like to damage the controller board.

Charles
Statistics: Posted by JavaRN — Fri Aug 10, 2007 8:59 pm
