The sensor is not directly connected to the robot, but to an atmega8 which will do the beam coding/decoding. The robot can trigger the laser beam throught a pwm port, but for the moment no report of ht is done.
Statistics: Posted by Voelker — Sun Nov 11, 2007 7:08 pm

Just a bit of info on the airsoft option I am looking at. Look at this link to see the workings of an AEG - Automatic Electric Gun.

http://www.maapr.com/whatsanaeg.htm
Statistics: Posted by DirtyRoboto — Fri Nov 09, 2007 3:22 am

If I were to create a laser tag robot, I would buy a self contained laser tag unit (like the ones at laser tag places, but smaller) and run some of its leads (fire and when it gets hit) to the chip. And then you have a laser tag robot!
Statistics: Posted by bbrainmonkey — Fri Nov 09, 2007 1:16 am

I have equiped my robot with a laser triggerable by software. The laser is controlled by an atmega8 in order to do beam frequency coding, and to count hit. I am now building the laser sensor to detect an incoming laser beam. As i just have the remocon an no bluetooth, aiming is not easy but i ll try to improve the system. I am now thinking to build other laser system to mount on other RC devices such as tank or helicopter.
Statistics: Posted by Voelker — Tue Nov 06, 2007 7:01 pm

Voelker wrote:
Such a system should be easy to build. I have bought some laser module (visible, not infrared) and some phototransitor that matches, to interface with an atmega8 which will code the laser beam, receive the signal from phototransistor and communicate with the robonova. Can you implement a master/slave setup to aim the RN arm? The servos are 1 degree, which might translate into some pretty big swings at a reasonable distance like three feet or so. It will be interesting to see what you come up with.
Statistics: Posted by tempusmaster — Wed Sep 26, 2007 9:51 am

It looks like I need to do some more research but it may be very simple to upgrade the RN with a laser tag system!

http://www.lasertagparts.com/mtsensors.htm
Statistics: Posted by Gort — Sat Sep 22, 2007 11:01 pm
