Robonova-1 with the stock battery installed, and the robot turned off, can be charged by plugging in the charger plug to the charger receptacle. If the battery is replaced, the charging circuit must be the same, i.e. the power from both the battery and the charger will be disconnected from the controller when the battery is charged. You may want to use a meter to confirm this with your new configuration to assure no damage occurs to your RN. Always verify and be on the safe side. I always work from a schematic diagram. It would be wise to first make a schematic of your charger and the cable wiring. This will make it a lot more easy in making the mod and to make certain everything is hooked up correctly.

humanoido
Statistics: Posted by Humanoido — Sun Sep 30, 2007 10:43 am

I bought a replacement 6v nimh 1300mah battery for my robonova. The battery has two connection leads - one for the charger and one to connect to the controller (robot). Would it do any harm to the controller if I charge the battery without disconnecting if from the robot (of course after turning the robot off)?

Thanks.
Statistics: Posted by JavaRN — Sat Sep 29, 2007 8:08 pm
