Robonova doesn't start (only blinking led)

It seems that this board is very sensible to voltage. I have had the same problem when i bought my RN-1 and i had to buy a new board. The led blink is caused by the atmega reset, if you watch the serial signal in a terminal you should see an E which is the reset signal. The only thing to do is to buy a new board or try to change the the onboard processor. The new version of the controller include a polyswitch wich protect the board against over-voltage.

Horatio, I have read that controller voltage can be up to 8 Volt.
I think 7.2 V is normal because when the battery is full charged each element is more than 1.2V (about 1.5)
7.2 / 5 = 1.44
6.0 / 5 = 1.2

Do You think it's too high?
How much is your voltage when the battery pack is full charged?

The robot power was 6.0 Volts, used the 7.2 Vollts,could it work so high volt ??

Hi,

I had exactly same happen to me.. I contacted Hitec support on there German website.

The support is very good. They gave me a few things to try but but in the end they asked me to send the controller board to them with proof of purchase for the warranty. My controller board had broken so they sent out a replacement. I don't know but if you bought a pre built one they would probably ask you to send the full RN-1 back. Let them know and they will advise you.

Hi, I am a newbie,

I have purchased Robonova few days ago and it works fine.
Yesterday I have put it on but the led is blinking and a light beep is made repeatedly, nothing else!!
The communication with the software robobasic don't works.
I have checked the battery (7,2V) and disconnected all servos and IR but it's the same.

I think that the controller 3024 is broken.
Is there guarantee for this item?
Is there anything I can do? (reset?) or I must buy another controller?
Please help me!
