I am working on a LCD module that I got from sparkfun. It needs to be connected to three wires GND, 5V and a signal. Then I connect it to the LCD connection terminal on the C3024. RoboBasic already has commands for a LCD built into the language. So it looks like to me a very simple ungrade.
Statistics: Posted by Gort — Mon Dec 31, 2007 10:51 pm

It looks like you just connect the C3024 LCD signal lead to RX* and leave RX open.
Statistics: Posted by i-Bot — Fri Dec 28, 2007 3:37 pm

I got a NetMedia (2x16) LCD display from a friend of mine and thought that I could use it with my robonova. However I got little mixed up as the manual describes how to connect it to the serial port of the PC not to a TTL device. In the product description there is stated that it can communicate with "2400 or 9600 baud RS232 or TTL". Do I need a converter from RS232 to TTL or since I will be using only TX (no data is returned from the LCD), there is no need for conversion? The LCD does not contain any jumper to switch from RS232 to TTL.

I found the product manual here:

http://basicx.com/Products/SLCD2/Serial%20LCD%20Display%20Module%20RoHS%20V1.0.pdf

Charles
Statistics: Posted by JavaRN — Fri Dec 28, 2007 1:59 pm
