I've only had it for a couple of weeks but it seems to do the job.

That's funny. That is the exact one I've been looking at. After searching through all of the Mastech power supplies, and others for hours, I finally chose that one. It was to give you an idea not that particular one. I just got one of ebay brand new for $250, the same make but 2 x 5A, 30V with a fixed 5V out put. try searching on ebay:
bench power supply
Then
Industrial Electrical & Test
Test Equipment
Power Supplies
DC Power Supplies
I then went
Triple Output
but that's optional (can have to many outputs).

This is the exact model and for the money I think that it's really good.

The link you posted was on ebay for a used model. It says used and if you look at the pictures of the power supply it is definately used. Maybe you gave a wrong link or something? The Company that is selling it appears to deal with all used equipment that they probably buy from commercial auctions. Check your link again just in case. I appreciate your help.

Hi

The link I posted was for a brand new model and you can get it with 5 Amp version. If you read the speck you can put it in to serial or parallel that would give you 10 Amps.

Thanks guys. I am looking for something in the US. As far as the other listing ,If I were to buy something that large I would want it to be capable of more AMPs so I could use it on some of my other projects. I also dont like buying used electronics without seeing it in person. I wouldnt mind finding a nice wide range variable power supply to keep in my shop for all of my projects. As for using a power supply from a pc you still only have 5 volts or 12 . I have a hobby power supply now. It is not variable, it has a 13.8 volts 11.5 amp side (for automotive type power) and a 5 volt 3 amp side. I am trying to get something that will equal the battery on a full charge. I figure if the voltage or amperage is too low while programming fast moves on the robonova it wont have the same "momentum" when I recconect to the battery. So far what I have noticed with the robonova is the transition from one move to the next you need to "use" the momentum to smoothly move to the next. I am talking about Robonovas center of gravity. If I do a fast move with some forces of his upper halve pushing one way and I get it to another position without falling when connected to a weaker power and connect the robonova with more power (the battery) it may fall down because the timing would be off to stop or cancel the momentum. So I am looking for one or the other. A variable power supply, or one that has the exact requirements of the Robonova. One of my questions is still, how many amps at the 6 volts. I just figured by now that you guys would have come across a power supply, supplier that has something just right for the Robonova. I am not looking for something that "Just Works". I have that. Any comments are very welcome. Thanks guys

Ok I have searched and searched for an answer for a good reccomended power supply for my Robonova. I figured it would be a big deal to everyone to be able to plug it in to the wall while programming. I am using a regulated 12 volt dc power supply that also has posts for 5 volts 3 amps. It works but I believe it may be a little weak. obviously I am using the 5 volt side. Can anybody lead me in the right direction on the exact power supply I should be using. The battery is 6 volts 1000 milliamps =(1 amp right ?) I have read that the servos could draw a lot more. Could someone please explain this to me? Im in the US. Most places I come across are in the UK. Maybe I am missing something in my searches but I figured something like this wouldnt be so elusive. Thanks
