Clarification

Sorry, the Senor Robot reference probably through it off.

I turn Robonova on. He stands up. Remote doesn't work at all.

The light is on solid. Changed baterry in the remotes. Validated the remote is sending a signal.

If you use your laptop and have no serial port get a usb to serial cable. I cant understand what you are trying to say in your last post. When Robonovas eye is blinking you need to hit a button right after the third blink. Pain in the butt I know. There is an easy fix but it means you wont have any battery warning any more and you risk running the battery too low. There are other things you can do. If you look at my post "up late new mods" you will see the blinking lights across his chest. That is a battery monitor. It will let you know when you should recharge him so you dont run the battery too low. You dont have to mount it like I did if your not ready but you can plug it in and put some sticky tape on it a put it on his shoulder or something. Once you do this you can do this to the code- http://www.bauerindependents.com/SUBMAI ... elp_04.htm. Actually the apostraphe you add before robot_voltage wouldnt compile right for me so I put it in the same line -GOSUB robot_voltage but before ('GOSUB) it worked fine. Hope this helps. If this isnt your problem try to redownload the template to your Robonova.

I can see the remote is putting out the IR ... however, senor robonova is not doing anything

Power cycling the robot several times solved it. Now ....

Everything is working great. Can do the full range of items on the remote.

(don't have a serial port on my laptop with me .... so stuck on remote for now).

Tonight the remote stopped working. I saw a post about something with the remote, however, search is not my friend right now.

Anyone know the search terms for it?

Like NVR2FST said, it could be the low battery. I know my RN1 does some weird stuff when the battery is low. If the remote is having problems responding, it could the known low_voltage warning issue. Apparantly there is a line in the code for the robot to give you a low voltage warning but it doesn't work right so the generally accepted fix is to comment out that line of code. You could try that as well.

Regarding why he fell, did you set the Zero Points as per the instruction manual? If not, this is an important step. When mine falls over, I just flip him back up or hit the button for the "fordward_standup" or "backward_standup" routine, thats always fun to watch. Alternately, you could install an accelerometer which will make him stand up by himself when he falls over. Mine has on occasion not responded to the remote and I'll simply turn him off and on again.

Cycle the battery a couple times it will be fine. Fully Charge it, run it a little, Charge it, Run a little. Most new ones need this. Do not run it with a low battery.

Newbe Robonova questions

Okay .... I am in pre-school here, so go easy on me. I just received my Robonova RTW and it looks awesome.

I went through and did the standard charge and when it was complete I was ready to go through and give everything a whirl.

I went ahead and turned the robot on and pressed 1 on the remote which the moves were executed fine. 2, 3 ... etc.

However, when it attempts to do the stand on one foot, he fell back on the table. Multiple beeps ensued. I picked him up but could not figure out how to get him back on track.

I turned him off and then back on but then he is unresponsive. I end up having to connect/disconnect the AC adapter to get him to respond anymore from the remote.

1 - Is there a reason that he fell? Did I miss a calibration step. The manual is very geared toward you skilled builders out there, so it's a bit of a struggle right now.

2 - When robo falls over, what is the best approach. Did I do something wrong that put him back into sleep mode.

I wanted to go through all of the items on the remote before connecting him up to my PC and going from there.
