That's why I did not bother programming it until only yesterday.  Actually, I just copy and paste all the sequences of movement which I thought is cool so that he could walk longer and taking a rest then walk again with sidestep dancing until he take that flight.  But beyond that I have to do more study of roboBasic.  My friends are already overwhelmed by what it can do. Stability from my perspective, is the ability to perform all the moves in the templates folder without falling over etc. I believe a weak battery can also cause problems so I am going to charge him up before attempting this once more...<br /><br />If I can manage this - then the hacking can begin.<br /><br />The first few moves I want to perform:<br /><br />* Steps<br />* Vaulting over a chest high obstacle<br /><br />gyro and wireless camera should be here next week - but I need to exploit meaty fully before installing any additional hardware...just to get the most out of him.<br /><br /><br />UPDATE:<br /><br />Yup - weak batteries were the cause of the problems...The battery doesnt last long at all does it? 30 minutes tops?!?  Need a bigger battery for this guy...surely...<br /><br />Now I can do all the movements with full stability. I will still tweak the posture over time for ultimate stability - right now I am just happy that everything is working well and the platform is ready to receive add-ons.<br /><br />Robobasic coding is my next challenge. I am going through some of the early teething issues with my RN-1. The initial setup is quite tricky to get right.<br /><br />Problems: <br /><br />* "Meaty" has a bit of a problem walking in a straight line. No...I did not take him to the pub with me last night. He seems to prefer a "leftward" attitude (nothing to do with Tony Blair) and this is quite frustrating<br /><br />* <span style="font-weight: bold">Meaty also has a tendency to fall over backwards</span> I really need to address this issue. Under the initial program...when I press button 3,4,0 on the remote...all three moves cause meaty to fall over backwards. Now I understand this requires tuning the hip servos so that he is bent forward slightly...but is this the only reason?<br /><br />* the zero settings are hard to setup accurately<br /><br />* Anyone tried working the RN-1 on a wood surface?
