Congrats on the gold! It was great to meet you and I look forward to seeing you next year. Here is a pic I thought you might get a kick out of. Mecha Kong feeling the fury of Sir i-SOBOTS attack:) I also want to say congrats to Matthew Downing age 11 with his bot Sir i-SOBOT for winning the bronze. Great job Matthew!

Statistics: Posted by Droid Works — Tue Jun 17, 2008 2:52 pm

hello fellow roboteers, the games finished yesterday about 5:00 P.M.pst. the middleweights were having a robot rumble and one of the Korean team won it. Since I had stripped two servo's I didn't join in. Had enough rebuilding for the week. Couldn't get on the board from friday to just now .Limor asked me to let you guy's and gals know how the games went. the really big guy's, Baurmech lt. wt., tempus fugit, and Tohm had other stuff to do, (selling, manning booths, running the games, etc ) I commented on robot dreams the pairings and match results for sat. and sun. and who got what medal.but I'll recap here, the matches were fought round robin double elimination, which is hard because there's no rest for the loser or winner since you have a round in six minutes after you've won or lost a round, we got through three rounds saturday. luckily only two on sunday .Demonstration and stair climbing were held also. the Korean teams hit it big time in those and hwt wrestling and sumo. A real big suprise was Sir Isirbot winning bronze in lt. wt. wrestling. RN! went up against it in the first round and won a split decision, battling it was that tough, since no combat move is aimed that low, RN!did knock it down but when RN! stood on it's sword the ref reset RN! in the neutral corner for a penalty. Sir Isirbot went onto win a round against Kugai, and on sunday Mecca Kong which is an HR-! with some real control issues. Silver was given to Robo Philo who was a real tough cookie to cut also, RN! and philo spent friday sparring in the pits, which gave RN! an edge but also two stripped servos, A real big thank you to Baurmech for the gearset or RN! would've had to be really handicapped above my bad point and clicking, One of the users on Robot Dreams wanted to know how Kugai did, he fought well, but Sir Isirbot won, RN! recieved the Gold medal by winningall of his rounds. The heavyweights were dominated by the Korean team, but for the fighting experience of ORO they would have swept the board of medals. Once again this year, keeping control of your robot was tough, even RN! ran offand jumped out of the ring. I think Sir Isirbot terrified it, although the rest of the field had thier problems too. The Gold medal went to Sakra Zero after pummeling ORO down to Silver. I hope nobody holds this entry against me. the Bronze went to Kwan Gao after battles with ORO(w), Michael, and Herapion. O.K. hope your favorite won and good luck to everyone til next year. johnjjcnov@aol.com
Hope I can pull this off http://www.buildersdb.com this link has all the robots that competed and if you click through, should get to all the other events too I think I'm getting better at this Well maybe not
Statistics: Posted by engineer — Tue Jun 17, 2008 2:46 am
