Sorry for late replies:
- The big feet affect the stock motions a lot, and the balance is not great. I have since the last post modified the feet twice, now finishing a pair of lipo feet, with a 2000mA cell in each, and flat sole. I had to abandon my idea of fitting platform shoes to Mofo
- Ibot, thanks a lot for the i2c code, most useful. I do not seem to be able to get a reading further than 85cm approximately from my SRF08, could it be caused by echo?

And finally, a pic of Mofo dancing the disco with me in Ars Electronica festival on September 6th in Linz Austria.

[/img]
Statistics: Posted by lezed — Sat Sep 20, 2008 1:09 pm

I found you need to be careful of the reflections on the ultrasonic. I used foam cylinders on the tranducers and also some foam on surrounding surfaces.

Ended up with a spectacled nerd look. Who says robots don't look like their owners !
Statistics: Posted by i-Bot — Thu Aug 21, 2008 8:04 pm

I like him! Its amazing how much character can be achieved with a different head! I don't know what other modifications you made because I didn't follow the thread but it looks neat.
Statistics: Posted by Layton — Wed Aug 20, 2008 12:03 am

After a few weeks of hard work, my robot Mofo is shaping up.
It has a neck rotation servo, a crude gripper, an i2c srf08 ultrasound sensor, a tilt sensor and 2 heavy feet each loaded with a standard RN1 battery.
I am presently struggling a bit with adding a bluetooth connection (sparkfun bluesmirf), but I might have found the answer on the forum (crossed tx and rx). If things go well, the robot will be on stage with me at a festival in Austria in 2 weeks time.
Great forum, thanks to all contributors:)

[/img]
Statistics: Posted by lezed — Tue Aug 19, 2008 10:49 pm
