These servos are really designed for use over 180 degrees. Pulses outside the range are rejected.

The physical range of the servo and potentiometer do seem greater. It may be possible to add resistors to the ends of the servo pot to increase the travel.

See here for some more detail:
http://robosavvy.com/Builders/i-Bot/HSR ... 0Servo.pdf
Statistics: Posted by i-Bot — Wed Jul 01, 2009 11:10 pm

I need to get my Robonova to lift his hands upward in front of his body to a position over his head like a music conductor marking the beat with his baton. I could do this if I could get about 270 degrees of rotation from the shoulder servos.

I know I could "trick" the shoulders by mounting the horns 90 deg out of phase, but then this would spoil many of the pre-programmed moves like backward standup which audiences love.

Can the HSR-8498HB be physically altered to allow greater rotation?

If yes, will the MR-C3024 controller permit more than 180 degrees ?

Are there any special programming considerations that must be made? (Such as not trying to take the "short" route between rotation extremes.)

Thank you - TechnoBuff
Statistics: Posted by TechnoBuff — Wed Jul 01, 2009 3:59 pm
