The RN-1 turns by placing one foot in front of the other, and brings them back together (kinda' sliding the feet) in order to pivot. Without modifications, the RN-1 doesn't have the independent leg rotation necessary to allow him to turn like a human turns while - say walking.

Making the choice between the RN-1 and Bioloid ultimately depends on what you plan on doing with/learning from it i guess.
Statistics: Posted by bauermech — Tue Jul 11, 2006 5:27 pm

Hi

How easy/hard is it to get the RN-1 to turn corners? I don't have one but am deciding between the RN-1 and Bioloid and it strikes me from the joints of the RN-1 that it would be difficult to get the bot to turn corners. The Bioloid can turn its legs so I suspect it might be easier for that bot.

What are peoples experiences please.

Mark
Statistics: Posted by pepperm — Mon Jul 10, 2006 8:58 am
