I have several beefs about this product. Firstly, the documentation is EXTREMELY CLEAR about which is left and which is right. Secondly, it is PERFECTLY CLEAR from the documentation what the correct holes are on the servo horns to align with the hardware. For anyone who has wrestled through the Robonova manual and tried to figure out left and right and stared really hard at the printed manuals diagrams of which hole number to align where (or done the same on a zoomed PDF), this was quite a change to adapt to.

I had steeled myself upon arrival of the grippers for hours of head-scratching, assembly, disassembly and re-assembly the correct way around, and I was most disappointed - the PROFESSIONALLY WRITTEN, HUMOUROUS and PICTURE-STREWN documentation made it impossible to make a mistake in the assembly.

Not only that, the damn things worked first time exactly as advertised, with no hitches and left me shaking like a KHR-1 servo with anger at how absolutely great a product Matt put together. I shall be thinking twice before I purchase any other quality product from Bauer Independents, especially as the customer service is so good - can you believe that even though the original pair appeared to have been lost in transit, Matt shipped me another set, no questions asked? Good lord. What is the world coming to?

Awesome work, Matt!
Statistics: Posted by beermat — Tue Aug 08, 2006 2:14 am
