Dude that's sweet

I bought the mini skateboard and tried to get the robonova to step up forward onto it, like climbing a stair. One foot kept getting caught under the board and that's about as far as I got. My intention was to get the robot to mount the board and attempt some kick-turns or at least pop the wheels up.

But I'm sure i'll be inspired to try again soon.
Statistics: Posted by Gman — Mon Sep 11, 2006 10:05 pm

Thank you,

Excellent idea beermat, I think I'll have to go try that right away . Good to hear I took the same direction you did as well. cool.

And I'm sorry. I'll try to sober Thor up. He just gets so upset when he sees cardboard and decides to start drinking...
Statistics: Posted by hivemind — Mon Sep 04, 2006 1:09 pm

lol, nice! That's almost about as far as I got before I took the skateboard apart and used the wheels for roller skating instead. Now, if Thor could just try that when he's sober, he might not wobble so much.

Your mounting move is pretty much identical to the move I developed to get mine onto the board and standing on one leg, which is fun to see. Guess there is only one way to skin that cat?

Oh, also, I'd recommend some lubrication on the axles / wheels of the board if you haven't already - it was night and day for me before and after with that TechDeck board. Squeaky and resistant to motion with RNs weight on before, free flowing and smooth after lubrication.
Statistics: Posted by beermat — Mon Sep 04, 2006 12:26 pm

First off I would like to say that I was inspired by beermat and his skating moves and I wouldnt have gotten where I did without his idea and for the skateboard to use. So thank you beermat.

As the topic states, I have gotten my RN to skateboard, but it is a bit wobbly at the moment. If you choose to watch the video you will notice that Thor easily gets frustrated with this and relieves his anger on the nearest cardboard. I plan on getting a better kick off soon, but if i cant get the skateboarding down then I will move on to skates (once again, credit to beermat).

Anyway, heres a nice picture of the board I am using, and below is a video.

Thor's amatuer skateboarding.
Statistics: Posted by hivemind — Mon Sep 04, 2006 3:46 am
