Kind of!
I got what I reckon to be a good stab at it but I am unhappy as I am one servo down.
I am going to put off until I get the servo and reset the date to December 20.
I am looking to get a new servo within 2 weeks from now so don't go fretting.

I am also going to get a gyro and sonar, but don't worry as I am looking to work on movement for at least 3 more months and will post up my moves where possible.

-----

Has anyone done a good quadruped crawl yet?

I have done a relly good baby crawl but again, due to being a servo down it just doesn't cut mustard compared to what I could do with a fully working Takeshi.

Marcus.
Statistics: Posted by DirtyRoboto — Wed Nov 29, 2006 6:54 pm

Oooow! I am soooh close. My damaged upper arm is stopping me big time but I have good leg action going on.
I may even upload my BodyPop interlude attempt, for you all to enjoy.
I have a good wave (BodyPop move) diagonal through Takeshi from his left arm to his right foot.
I am also looking to include some hip thrusts with groin hold aproximations, but I will see how that goes before including it.

Marcus.
Statistics: Posted by DirtyRoboto — Sat Nov 18, 2006 6:55 pm

Try the above suspending your RN-1 with a piece of string tied to the ceiling and it works well.
If any 'clever Dick' in the audience asks about the string tell them it's an illusion!

Ric
Statistics: Posted by Ric — Wed Nov 08, 2006 9:45 am

*Gasp* you mean it's not real?

So, you said 'to perfection', and I took that to mean it'd look identical to MJs move. Part of the move requires sliding one leg backwards whilst the other leg starts 'heel up, toe down' and that heel is lowered as the other leg slides. This is critical to making it look like a forward walking motion. This requires all the weight to be on the toe of the non-sliding foot, which is hard to do on a RN given the lack of toe joints and will more than likely cause a pivoting action rather than a sliding action. You can Google many directions about how to Moonwalk, and they all include the above description.

Having said that, with some creativity, I think you can get close to replicating the motion to the point where the illusion kicks in and it should look pretty cool and will be a 'must' for everyone who has to show off the RN-1 to inquisitive family and friends. Good luck!

P.S. The move above causes my RN to fall over everytime, gyros on or off. The joys of slightly different zero settings!
Statistics: Posted by beermat — Wed Nov 08, 2006 1:45 am

There will be 2 more shamons than a-hee-hees.

Actually, as you try the moonwalk, you'll probably find the RN will rotate around the foot you are trying to balance on rather than slide. But I might have a stab to see if I can even get close. It'd be cool to do!
Statistics: Posted by beermat — Tue Nov 07, 2006 1:05 pm
