1) Do I need to set it up using the windows software first? I am unable to get the software to connect. Does the USB power the module, or do it need to also connect it to the Robonova. Are there USB drivers that I need to install also? Where are they?

Yes. Outside of Robo, connect the antenna, your RN serial cable as you would to download code but plugged into BT module serial port, and the USB cable (used only for power - no driver needed).

2) Does the module just fit loose inside the chest cavity? Is there a way to secure the antenna?

There are some adhesive velcro pads to secure the module in the chest if you choose to. I just placed my antenna near the top of the PCB cover. Remember it is bluetooth radio it doesn't need line of sight or anything.

When you have it all connected and sw installed start by connecting at 4800bps on the com port you use for RN program download. Once connected you can change it to whatever speed you want. Dont forget to change the 'mode' from 0 to 1,2 or 3 to search for your PC bluetooth radio. I left mine set to 1 after this so that the RN would initiate connection on power up.
Statistics: Posted by TheGuru — Mon Jan 08, 2007 9:31 pm

I am installing the Hitec Bluetooth kit and have a couple questions/issues.

1) Do I need to set it up using the windows software first? I am unable to get the software to connect.
