Andy,

The issue is that the only published interface to the CM-5 is the TTL level half duplex serial interface that runs at 1 MBPS. That means that to interface an I2C interface you'll also need a module that can support the Half Duplex Serial Bus.

There are some threads here where some of us have been working on an IO module for the bioloid - PepperM has been designing the hardware and a number of us have been working on the software (Limor, myself etc). We do plan to add I2C support but currently aren't there.

Sorry its not an easy answer but that is where we are at at the moment

Pev
Statistics: Posted by Pev — Sat Mar 31, 2007 7:21 pm

This my sound like a stupid question to the more experienced members but is there any EASY way of establishing communications easily between other microprocessors and the CM-5 perhaps over I2C?

I need to do this in a quick and easy fashion (i.e. buy something) rather build a PCB etc. If anyone has a solution I would very much appreciate it.

Andy
Statistics: Posted by Andy Smith — Sat Mar 31, 2007 7:06 pm
