Wireless camera on the robot!

I think I may just get a wireless IP cam, because I wish the live video can be display on my Pocket PC as well as robot controlling UI all in one box. But on the down side most of the wireless IP cam’s are CMOS.

But if I controlling the robot from a Laptop or Tablet then that wouldn’t matter, I can use a high quality CCD with the USB capture module to get good picture.

I have a USB video capture module.

This one, in fact:

The receiver from the camera plugs directly into the capture device, and I can feed the video directly into RoboRealm to do image processing...

You could always try a rca to usb converter to get the video on your computer. I've seen these on ebay before.

Just checked ebay and it was a usb tv tuner with rca connections.

The camera weighs in at about 120 grams, and the lens is about 80.

Thanks for your advice guys, one of the reason why it has to be WiFi is because I want the image display on the PC not TV so that I can control and monitor the robot same time at the PC, the advantage having the live video display on the PC that is because the video can also be intergraded to the controlling software or even pocket pc version if possible. So I've got everything in my hand.

They work pretty well, and the price is hard to beat for what you get - a CCD (not CMOS) wireless camera with receiver, for $125 including shipping.

Guys,

Now I am thinking to add a wireless camera on the robot so that I can control the robot in my bed room while the robot is in the living room so I still able to see and hear what’s going on in the living.

My question is would that be a good idea to get a mini digital camera plus a Wireless LAN Module http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/produc ... cts_id=665 to commutate with the PC or just get a easy wireless IP camera from ebay?
The reason to use WiFi is because I’ve already used the Bluetooth port to controlling the robot.
