well, a dynamixel led stays on when is overheated or it is jammed or something is jamming it from moving freely....
Statistics: Posted by vaguin — Wed Jan 29, 2014 3:04 am

Hi Everyone!

I'm having some problems with my AX-12+. I had a robot arm set up and it was running fine for a long period of time until recently I encountered the following problem.

One of the servo I used at the rotating base stopped working with the red LED staying constantly ON and it couldn't be detected by any of the Roboplus software. I replaced the servo and it worked fine for a while and the same problem happened again. I replaced it for the second time and it hasn't given me any problems since then. But now I'm down with 2 servos that I cannot use.

I'm using both CM-5 & CM-700 and both experiences the same problem.

My question is, what kind of error does it indicate when the LED stays constantly on and can I fix it by replacing a component on the circuit board inside the servo? And also, what could be the cause of this problem? It's working fine for now but I'm afraid the same thing would happen again. The task of that servo does handle quite a bit of weight but shouldn't be over or close to the rated force. Is this a typical problem caused by excessive loads?

Anybody with any clues of what's going on please help advise! Thanks in advance!

Kiki Tay
www.KikiTayBlog.com
Statistics: Posted by KikiTay — Thu Jan 23, 2014 12:26 pm
