Thank you very much for your answers. I was able to upload the firmware, and the problem with the dynamixel was very "silly"... it wasn't properly attached. The error number from the robot terminal is very unhelpful for a newbie like me.
Statistics: Posted by siempre.aprendiendo — Sat Aug 11, 2007 5:38 pm

Hi...
I also want to add...
I remember when I built my bioloid. I had the same warning.
I suggest you to double check the wiring...In the past there was one dynamixel did not attach properly to my CM-5 board.
Hopefully, it is useful.

cheers,

ryann2k1
Statistics: Posted by ryann2k1 — Sat Aug 11, 2007 2:08 pm

The C Example will not work as written because it expects the AX12s to be set to 57142 BPS.

Did you use the Boot loader to reload the original fimware file (page 116 on in user guide)?

Here is the procedure I use and it works for me:

Run the Biolod Terminal program. Hold the # key pressed before you power the CM5 and you should be in the boot loader.

Press return to get the - prompt.
Type load, then return.

Now mouse select the files top option and click Transmit File. Brouse for the file Bioloid_Ver115.hex and select it.

The file will be loaded, the bottom line of the Terminal Screen will show progress. When complete the checksum will be displayed.

Ok we now have the CM5 back as per factory shipped.

Now switch off the CM5. Switch it on again ( a LED should be flashing), change mode to manage, press Run and you should get the Management Mode screen and any connected AX12s should be found.

Good Luck.......

Dewey
Statistics: Posted by Dewey — Sat Aug 11, 2007 12:03 pm
