if you are using the CM-2, then the command is "write 3 [insert new servo number here]" - this is available in what I believe is called the "monitor" mode. To get to the monitor mode you must press the 'reset' button on the CM-2 twice, presuming of course that you have the Bioloid software installed.

If you can send direct messages on the bus, its easy - you just do a WRITE_DATA with the old id, and pass in the new id as the data to write.

The command would look like this:

FF FF 02 04 03 03 09 EA

If you're using the CM2 or whatever, it probably does a broadcast to change the ID.

Hi all

Does any one know how to change the ID of a servo with out affecting all the rest. e.g. change ID 2 > 9 with out all the other servos changing to 9. other wise I might have to take the whole robot apart just to change the ID to a nicer layout or keep the random ID numbers.

I've read all the info I can find but can only re-ID all the servos in a chain.
