HI All

I use that stuff on my own bot with the DX's. I use heat shrink at the ends to stop it fraying and to tidy it up. Works very well.

Bren
Statistics: Posted by Robo1 — Sat Jan 26, 2008 12:21 am

We use this stuff for our dx and rx servos. It does still fray at the ends so you need a "hot knife" or old solder iron as mentioned above to finish the ends and keep them from fraying. Its very tough stuff. The only down side as I stated is that it does tend to make the wires a bit stiffer therefore putting more stress at connectors so the best thing to do is put some strain relief near the servo connectors so that unsheathed wire doesn't take most the bend when the limb or servo moves.
Statistics: Posted by Bullit — Fri Jan 25, 2008 1:25 pm

try cable organizers
Use an old soldering iron and an awl to fix the ends, or you can try other products, some at the same site such as wire loom, or sheath wrapping, many different colors available too. Be careful not to get something too heavy though because it will cause the wires to be more still and put stress on the connectors.
Statistics: Posted by Bullit — Fri Jan 25, 2008 4:20 am

The wires on my Bioloid are starting to wear so I'm thinking about how to protect them.

Has anyone salved this?

I looked back at Matt's first article in Robot, and he uses "snakeskin", "adhesive-lined heat shrink tubing" and "nylon wrap". I tried searching for these items on Google but can't seem to find them all...

Matt if you're reading this can you post a few links?

Thanks,
--Scotty
Statistics: Posted by srobot — Fri Jan 25, 2008 2:08 am
