I got the connection working again. I wrote a program using the behavior control software that sets the "other robot id" to a range of numbers starting from "this robot id " - 5 to "this robot id" + 5 and every time it waits for 10 seconds to give me time to check if the led stops blinking, and it worked! it was 3742 (decimal).

But I still cannot connect to the zig-bee module through the Robot terminal, so any help would be really appreciated.
Statistics: Posted by JavaRN — Wed Feb 20, 2008 5:12 pm

I've installed the zig-bee module successfully both on the PC (through USB2Dynamixel) and soldered on the CM-5 - the led on the zigbee module was not blinking so I assumed it is working properly.

I wrote a utility in Java to receive packets from the zig-bee module (port 16 on my system) and it did work, with one problem - I was receiving a number of packets, not just one.

I tried to run the Change RF ID example program on the bioloid CD and it changed the id of the other robot (in case my PC) to 123 and the communication now stopped and the led on the Zig-bee module on the PC side is stops blinking for a while, and then starts blinking, stops blinking for a while and then starts blinking again, and so on.

What do I have to do to get the communication back?

I went through the Zig-bee manual but I cannot understand how to communicate with the zig-bee module using the Robot terminal. Is the software the same as the one that comes with the CD? or is it some other software, because I cannot connect to the module using the robot terminal.
Statistics: Posted by JavaRN — Wed Feb 20, 2008 4:27 pm
