Peter Turner at Tribotix wrote up a teriffic manual for constructing the Bioloid puppy. This is the best Bioloid-related documentation I have seen to date, including some very clear general instruction that everyone who is new to Bioloids should read. The model created with this manual will work with the puppy robot files included with the latest version of the Bioloid software. The manual can be downloaded here:
http://www.tribotix.info/Downloads/Robo ... g%20AM.pdf

The manual was created for an educational environment. Last week, 24 grade 10 girls in Australia used this manual to build 6 Bioloid puppies, with great success. They had the puppies walking (primitively) and doing handstands in a very short time.

The puppy model differs slightly in the construction of the head from the robot files and the videos we've seen, in the direction the AX-S1 is facing. This is mostly just a cosmetic difference, and should not affect its function with the robot files. It's arguably an improvement because it allows the use of all three proximity sensors on the AX-S1 rather than covering one of them up.

Enjoy. Let me know if you build the puppy.

PS: check here for the thread with the download for the Bioloid software that includes the puppy robot files:
http://robosavvy.com/modules.php?name=F ... opic&t=336
Statistics: Posted by stevo3d — Wed Jun 07, 2006 10:28 pm
