Hi

I've been doing some more work with this board and it's really well thought out.

I am also test driving the upcoming Robotis Software that replaces BCP (Roboplus - it's compatible with CM-5) and I'm say it's very very good.

It also makes it really easy to use this new board with it so I guess it makes this board a good proposition for both new users and experienced ones

I will post back some screenshots of a sample program with Roboplus and this board tomorrow.

Regards
Pedro.
Statistics: Posted by PedroR — Tue Jul 28, 2009 5:02 pm

Hi

We at Robosavvy received a sample of the new PSX board for Bioloid StuartL and Matt have been developping.

The is meant to connect a Playstation controller and interface it with the Bioloid bus.

The command spec is very clean and neat and we already have the first pics for the board:

This second one has a credit card next to it so you get an idea of the size. (sorry for the poor pic; these were taken with the cellphone...)

The board we got has a PS2 female connector atteched but most likelly you'll want to solder your own PS2 cable to the board OR use a wireless controller and solder the wireless part directly.

We haven't yet investigated it with Limor but you may be able to fit everything in the chest of the robot so it would look very neat

Right now we've only been playing with the interface using Robot terminal but I expect to start coding soon.

Mathew already sent me a simple sample written using libbioloid that moves a servo according to the analog stick value.
I must say I'm really impressed at how clean the code and the whole solution is.

I'll be posting further details very soon.
Just wanted to share with you my first experience!

Cheers
Pedro.
Statistics: Posted by PedroR — Tue Jul 14, 2009 5:14 pm
