Hi Pakkua80. Apparently, you can really run your ax-12’s useless (can’t repair it yourself) when the firmware update is interrupted. This was the response of Peter Turner on your question: http://forums.tribotix.info/forum1/22.html

thats exactly what I would try ...

In case they just "lost" their IDs I'd connect 1 Dynamixel to the CM-5 in management mode in order to rename and reset it (Commands ID and RESET). If you then have access to it everything may be fine ...

That's the ROM stuff in CM-5 and not the firmware on each servos. I think i might need a reset on each AX-12 with the serial cable to the individual servos... hopefully i don't have to do that.

Guys,

What's the probability of an idiot roommate to come into your room and trip your power cable while you are doing a AX-12 firmware update....... After that happened, I try to do it again, but it seems it's not working at all. Terminal into it and no AX-12 is found !!!!!! Can some one help me out ?
