Hi altwolf and sucidal.banana,

Thanks for replying

my main concern is for the bioloid to walk down the straight down the hall way of estimately 10metres.. however, the default program is kinda slow yet it deviates away.. any great ideas for me???

as for the cake, i believe the torque servo is capable of handling that.. or i have to ask gigi to bake a smaller one! lol

thanks for replying..
Statistics: Posted by flamer09 — Tue Dec 08, 2009 7:39 pm

thats gonna be hard to achieve, note that even though a cake is not very heavy, compared to the robot it will be somewhat heavy, thus, if the robot has to walk this fast while holding a container with a cake in it, just the 'wobbling' created by each step would push the cake&container over the center of gravity, making it lose the container or topple.

Also note that thats a pretty expensive robot & looks like its made for robocup, thus meaning a team has worked on the robot.
Statistics: Posted by Suicidal.Banana — Tue Dec 08, 2009 12:12 pm

haha.. i thinking of puting the cake in a container so it wont fall over =)

The problem i facing now is the huge motion to just walk a small step and the walking speed.

Thinking of achieving something like this --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TPLiTb-0KU

hahahahahaha
Statistics: Posted by flamer09 — Tue Dec 08, 2009 7:22 am

for the birthday cake, you might need to get one of those bioloid premium's (new kit, one above comprehensive) since that has a gyro/imu, wich makes it possible for the bioloid to balance itself, but, in all honesty even with sayd balance sensing youd most likelly have your bioloid faceplant into the cake.

That is, assuming you mean a humanoid/biped, a quad or hexapod could actually carry a cake quite well i assume
Statistics: Posted by Suicidal.Banana — Mon Dec 07, 2009 12:22 pm

Wow. You are ambitious.
Hopefully you are planning to use a SMALL cake, more like a cupcake. LOL. There is no way a stock bioloid could carry a full-size birthday cake.

It is pretty difficult to get Bioloid to shift his weight that much and not fall over. In a human, when we shift our weight like that to walk, the upper body twists in the opposite direction to counter balance everything. Bioloid can't do that unless you add a 19th servo for waist rotation.

It would also help if he had an accelerometer/gyro sensor. That's coming in february for the Premium upgrade kit, i hear.

I'm not saying it's impossible, but it will take a LOT of trial and error and getting his balance just right.
Statistics: Posted by altwolf — Sun Dec 06, 2009 9:18 pm

Hi! i have jus bought a bioloid and decide to make my own walking method.

however, i need a very big motion to shift my robot's weight to the other side so that i can move my leg forward.

i also need to lift my leg very high so that the leg can swing to the front.

From the youtube videos i've watch, they do not move their weight much and is walking very fast!

can anyone share with me how they do it?

intend to carry a birthday cake with the bioloid

so it have to move very fast and stable down the hall as i do not want the cake to be drop and have everyone wait for a slow moving robot.
Statistics: Posted by flamer09 — Sat Dec 05, 2009 9:43 am
