Just got this email from Gostai, makers of the Urbi robot platform.
If anyone wants to try a different platform to work with your Bioloid than the normal Robotis development one, you can check this out. It runs on the normal c-m5 MCU, so nothing extra is needed. You do need to flash the rom with the Urbi firmware. In order to use the regular robotis stuff again you would have to reinstall the normal bioloid firmware.

What's kind of cool about Urbi is that it is intended to be a "universal" robotics platform. Once you learn to use Urbi to program your bioloid, you are suddenly able to program all the other robotics hardware they support.

anyway, here is the msg, they sent out:

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Urbi users,

We're happy to announce the release of Urbi for Robotis Bioloid 2.0.3.
You can download your copy on http://www.urbiforge.com

Download link: http://www.urbiforge.com/index.php/Robots/Bioloid

We're excited to hear about your comments and feedback, don't hesitate to tell us what you think on our dedicated forum :
http://forum.gostai.com/viewforum.php?f=19&sid=86457c5d33875913e63198270b2a01ec

Best regards
--
The Gostai Team

http://www.gostai.com

http://www.urbiforge.com
--
Check out our community site: http://www.urbiforge.org
Upload and download your URBI scripts for any robot.
Statistics: Posted by altwolf — Tue Jun 01, 2010 8:03 pm
