Thanks, guys. I'll make my own then, and thanks for the links. Maybe I'll upload some pictures of my robot when I'm done.
Statistics: Posted by Gramlich — Wed Jun 09, 2010 3:39 pm

Hi Gramlich,

The part is a hub for the Bioloid Bus, I haven't heard a fancier name yet. An extra one comes in the Bioloid frame set which is much cheaper than the kits. There is nothing fancy about how it works. It's fundamentally the same as a networking hub, if that helps. All the connectors are directly linked together along their like pins. As billyzelsnack pointed out it is fairly trivial to make with some of the proper connectors.

The Bioloid Bus board is pretty great and definitely does a lot more than the hub. I use one on my current project.

Cheers!
Statistics: Posted by kamondelious — Thu Jun 03, 2010 2:21 pm

Take a look at this OEM board.

http://www.trossenrobotics.com/p/Bioloid-USB-Bus-Board.aspx?feed=Froogle

It has more features than you need, i.e. a USB interface, but it does link six dynamixel sockets. From the picture it looks to be pretty big so it won't be easy to hide. Up side is that it's cheap and available today.
Statistics: Posted by Fritzoid — Thu Jun 03, 2010 1:08 pm

I think that's the only part that's not available individually. Luckily it's trivial to make.

http://www.bioloid.info/tiki/tiki-index ... The Problem:
I'm a mechanical engineering student who works in a robotics lab at the University of Maine. I constructed a basic eight legged robot out of Bioloid and custom made parts. However, an essential part for the robot is needed for the proper functioning of another robot, and my boss wants both robots to be functional. I'm unsure what this part is called, and I've tried my best to guess as to the name. I need to purchase this part, but it seems like the only way to get it from Bioloid is by purchasing a large parts kit.

The Part:
The part is a small silicon board with 6 3-pin terminals, which allows communication from each servo to pass through it. It allows for a large clusters of servos, instead of a linear orientation of them.

Long story short:
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ZL7iyvNeglk/T ... 0/Part.bmp
Statistics: Posted by Gramlich — Wed Jun 02, 2010 6:48 pm
