Thought it was!

Seeing as I'm struggling using the Arduino, your PCB as per your first post may be a better idea.

I've done the 'hard' bit of getting the servo over here (UK) plus a Chinglish translation of the manual, it's frustrating that I now can't get the thing to move at all!
Statistics: Posted by roo — Sun Jul 18, 2010 7:12 pm

I recently exchanged a couple of messages with Limor on the topic of linux controllers, and wondered whether to resurrect another project of mine from a while ago.

Using the FT4232H device from FTDI to provide 4 seperate dynamixel buses from one USB connection. This H device has 480Mbps high speed USB so plenty of bandwidth, and uses existing linux/ windows drivers.

For my prototype I had 4 ttl dynamixel buses, but the chip supports RS485, and also I2C and SPI (IMU ?). My prototype used the FTDI mini prototype module at around 22 UKP, but the chip is about 8 UKP, so it may be worth making a PCB with connectors and interface chips.

Any interest ?
Statistics: Posted by i-Bot — Thu Jun 17, 2010 11:05 am
