Thanks Tyberius!

In my attempts to find a fix, I had discovered the Roboplus download from a post that you did on another forum. Big download, but it let me test the AX-18. These are amazing actuators, now I need to write some PIC code to control them.
Statistics: Posted by Toymaker — Tue Aug 10, 2010 5:22 pm

And it's free (as in beer), Lego Mindstorms, for example, sells the programming environment (NXT-G) and its updates.
Statistics: Posted by siempre.aprendiendo — Tue Aug 10, 2010 12:28 am

That's because Dynamixel Manager is no longer supported.

Download Roboplus, there is the new Dynamixel Wizard, which replaces Dynamixel Manager, included within the software package.

Robotis is actually the best in the industry when it comes to software support and presentation.
Statistics: Posted by Tyberius — Mon Aug 09, 2010 11:01 pm

Bullit wrote:
Sounds like your DynamixelManager is not up to date. Be sure to get the latest one.

Thanks for the reply. I think I am using the latest DynamixelManager V1.03 [V0.98]

Its starting to look like Robotis do not update there own software for there own products, very strange! Apart from that they are really great products, its just the support that needs to be improved.

Any help where I can find some PC software to test AX-18 would be gratefully received!

Toymaker
Statistics: Posted by Toymaker — Sun Aug 08, 2010 11:54 am

I just received from Robotsavvy a AX-12 and AX-18 servo together with a USB2Dynamixel

When I run DynamixelManager the AX-12 is detected and works perfectly, but when I connect the AX-18 and do the start search, it see's the servo but will not go into the manager screen, it just shows the network tab page?

The strange thing is when the AX-12 is connected and I place the curser over the ID, I get

Type:Actuator
Name:AX-12+
Number:12
Version:24

But when I do the same with the AX-18 connected, I get

Type:Unknown
Name:Unknown
Number:18
Version:25

It looks like the AX-18 is not recognised? Is the AX-18 faulty and needs to be returned or am doing something wrong?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Toymaker
Statistics: Posted by Toymaker — Sat Aug 07, 2010 2:31 pm
