I-bot, thank you, they are certainly the closest looking ones I have seen. Wish I could find a stockier that would let me look at some of the housing to determine the correct one......
Statistics: Posted by Pev — Tue Nov 23, 2010 1:22 pm

I don't have a CM510, but I wondered if these would work for the serial ?

http://uk.farnell.com/wuerth-elektronik/620004113322/housing-2mm-4way/dp/1841388

For the Ollo I/O ports, they are 5 pin and I don't see any 5 pin which would fit. However the 5th pin is not used, so maybe this one:
http://uk.farnell.com/harwin/m22f3010400/crimp-housing-1-row-4way/dp/672476

There is also a dual row 10 pin in the M22 range which would do two ports together.

Of course you need to buy the pins for the above seperate. Crimping these 2mm connectors is also difficult.
Statistics: Posted by i-Bot — Tue Nov 23, 2010 11:37 am

robosavvy wrote:
Pev: If you know the specific brand/model of the connector used for that we'd be delighted to hear about it!

I wish I had an answer for you on that one, I was just lucky and found an appropriate connector in my scrap box. Infact it was a 5 pin one so I had to mod it slightly by removing one of the pin holders from the assembly with a sharp knife. The connector was an internal USB cable from a Shuttle XPc if that helps......
Statistics: Posted by Pev — Tue Nov 23, 2010 9:24 am

Hi

I think it's important to clarify things a bit:

The photo shown above (for this product here http://www.robotis-shop-en.com/shop/ste ... number=836) is the cable for the A/D Sensor ports (there are 6 of those on the CM 510).
Those cables have 6 pin connectors and are not suitable for the Zigbee COMM port. You can those from us (just send us an email)

The Comm Port where Zigbee modules connect on the CM 510 has 4 pins and uses a different connector.

Pev: If you know the specific brand/model of the connector used for that we'd be delighted to hear about it!
Statistics: Posted by robosavvy — Tue Nov 23, 2010 12:12 am

Thanks, it is the zig110 port I was looking for a plug for, it is the four pin port on the top of the CM510. I have had a hunt through my scrap box and managed to find the right plug this evening.
Statistics: Posted by Pev — Mon Nov 22, 2010 10:36 pm

You mean de 5P black connector, isn't it?

I asked Robotis:

"By the way, is it possible to buy the 5P black connector at electronic shops? Sometines I need cables with a few more centimeters "

I received this answer in this thread at Robotis forum

"Aprendiendo,
Just checked with our technical guys,
and they said you probably won't be able to purchase them at shops.
We had them made especially for our products.
They may be wrong though. You can double check with shops just in case."

But they sold spare cables. I think that you could adapt it for your BT

By the way, Have you thought of using an BT-SERIAL adapter?
Statistics: Posted by siempre.aprendiendo — Mon Nov 22, 2010 7:50 pm

Hi All,

Sorry to be posting yet more questions but having just received the CM-510 and starting to get t grips with it I have hit a small interfacing issue.....

I want to be able to attach a BlueSmirf Bluetooth module to the unit. I have done some basic tests and think I can get this working ok but I need to create an interface cable to plug into the CM-510's Communication port. I did a quick visit to my local Maplin store but unsurprisingly they didn't have the right plug.

I was wondering if anyone knows the part no or manufacture of the correct plug for this socket. I know I can order the Zig110 interface and get a plug that way but would rather get a few plugs and experiment with the interface.

As for why I want to use bluetooth, it is purely to keep my remote controller options open. Currently using the CM5 with bluetooth I use a tablet PC, a PDA and a FroYo Android phone (currently in the prototype/experimental stage) to control the Bioloid. I would like to replicate these options with the CM-510.

Any help or information of the plug type would be greatly appreciated......

Many Thanks

Pev
Statistics: Posted by Pev — Mon Nov 22, 2010 12:27 am
