What's the most popular and powerful CAD-like software for interior decoration that is free or not expensive? I'm looking for CAD (computer-assisted design) software to do 2D and 3D design, drafting and modeling for interior design/decoration. The software should be free or not very expensive for non-professionals. Great work, guys!<br /><br />What the community really needs is a Bioloid Wiki.  I'm almost certain that a year from now, when hopefully I will actually have a use for these files, I'll no longer be able to find them.  <img src="http://forum.robosavvy.com/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" />  A wiki would be a super way to organize information and data of this sort. I tried to import the VRML file provided above into Rhino, and it didn't work... I have built a 19DOF hybrid (ID 1-18 as per the 18DOF humanoid with an added waist at ID19) <br /><br />I am trying to modify the original 19DOF .x file to cater for the waist joint being at ID 19 (rather than 1).  Fragmotion is excellent for loading and editing, however, the output doesn't display properly when loaded back into the motion editor.  It looks like all the key bones have their origin set incorrectly. So when they rotate, they don't rotate about their own axis, but rotate around some other point.   Wierd.   <br /><br />Easy to test, just load the original .x file into FragMotion, then save it out, having changed nothing. Found a 30 day eval of a product called 3D Photo Browser for 3D Users. I will be posting sometime soon the physics animated simulation of bioloid. For now, here's a tip on how to transform the skeletal mesh in DirectX format (.X) provided in the Bioloid CD into any other format.<br /><br />.X is a rarely used "target format" and there are not many convertors that allow importing .X files (even with PolyTrans I didnt succeed).<br /><br />One tool that does the job well is fragMotion (<!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.fragmosoft.com">www.fragmosoft.com</a><!-- w --> - 30 day evaluation).<br /><br />Import the .X files and export them to Quake2, Milkshpe or other skeletal mesh game formats and then use a second tool like milkshape or Blender  to convert to VRML or 3DS that can be imported into popular CAD systems like Solid / Inventor etc..<br /><br />Please share the results on this forum<br /><br /> <img src="http://forum.robosavvy.com/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><p>Statistics: Posted by <a href="http://forum.robosavvy.com/memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&amp;u=2">limor</a> — Mon Oct 23, 2006 11:43 pm</p><hr />

Hi,<br /><br />Most of this is guess work but with some checking. I think that the .X files used by the motion editor to render the model of the robot are AVS (Advanced Visual Systems) format files. They seem to be a cad system developer but thats about as far as I have got. Hi,<br /><br />I'm working on a homemade hexapod using some parts of the bioloid kit.<br /><br />I am hence trying to build a CAD model of my custom bot.<br />I noticed a while ago that Robotis provided CAD files (IGES format) for the DX series, and the DX brackets.
