Don't confuse the IR Ranger with the IR Data Sensor!

The IR Data Sensor has a dedicated port and is used to receive commands from the RC100 remote!

The IR Data Sensor is redundant if you upgrade to the Radio Zig110 option, well worth doing in my opinion.

The Sharp IR Ranger is connected to an anolgue input on the CM510 the value returned is not linear to distance!

A good approximation of the range in cms is 5524/Value returned.

Its good for ranges out to 80ish cms, google for a full datasheet on it.

1. Can the sharp infrared sensor report the distance of the object it detects?
2. The range is from some mm up to 80cm? Is that correct?

The functionality of the AX-S1 on the premium package is spread across the cm-510 controller which now holds the microphone, and the sharp infra red sensor that you can place at the designated stomach spot and two extra sensors that you can place wherever you'd like.

From what I see in the prenium's box contents on the post made by limor, there isn't an AX-S1.
Why?
On the prenium page it states that prenium has everything that the comprehensive kit has.

How does the prenium compensate in functionality if it's missing the AX-S1 sensor?
