I reckon Robobuilder should send you 20 of their wildest servos a.s.a.p.

Would be great to see a grudge match on whether a Robobuilder is worthy to carry Giger's head !

They really need to sponsor some teams and if they want to catch up to Robotis' lead. Maybe I should contact them about building a Robocup entry using their servos.

We're not sure what they'll be doing with these servos at this point. They showed them at a US event a couple of months ago and we're now waiting for them to come into production.

We know that for the first batches they are planning to offer the joints for free so users can build their own robots (likely an incentive to start seeing something real done with their servos).

Servo specs. look really good. Nice to see Robobuilder active again.

Where can we see Robobuilder walk the talk with the new servos ? What events will they be competing in this year ? Do they already have any teams lined up to use the servos ?

Any software planned from Robotis to exploit the load feedback ?

Hi all

As you all know, Robotis has been practically the only player in the Servo market when it comes to their RX and EX line of High torque servos.

There is now a new player preparing to enter this market (Robobuilder) with very interesting servos up to 150kgf.cm torque and high speed.

I have made a forum post on the Robobuilder forum http://robosavvy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7077 and I'm posting here as well so you can have a look.

They are clearly targeted at competing with the Robotis offer but have some nice added features such as RS232 or RS485 interface, a GPIO port built into each servo and onboard 32 bit processors.

They also include a real Current Measurement chip that promises to offer accurate current sensing and load feedback.

I invite you to visit the thread above and post your thoughts.
