Hi all

We have received some information from Robotis regarding the use and Storage of LiPo batteries over periods of time.

"STORAGE PRECAUTION
1- Turn off and Stop using the Robot when you hear the low battery alarm and charge battery.

2- When storing the battery for a period of time, make sure it is charged to at least 50% of its capacity.
LiPo batteries tend to slowly discharge by themselves over time and once they discharge under a certain level they become permanently damaged. Storing them charged ensures they stay healthy.

3- Disconnect the battery from the robot or controller when it's in storage.

4- Never leave the battery connected to the charger if the charger is not connected into the wall socket.

5- Do not store in wet or hot places."

These advices are meant to improve the durability of the battery and keep it in perfect condition for a long time.

They are quite simple: keep them charged (charge them when they are depleted)
and
don't forget them connected to the Robot or to the charger when it's not in use or not being charged.

Regards
Pedro.
Statistics: Posted by PedroR — Tue May 17, 2011 4:08 pm
