Hi José

I'm glad to hear you were able to troubleshoot your issue.

As a final note I would like to leave you a couple of notes from our experience with the RC-100:
- with the RC-100, sometimes you need to press the Mode button (the black button in the middle) to change between Zogbee and IR mode, although if Zigbee is installed the R-100 should recognize automaticaly.

- Also, the RC-100 sometimes suffers from bad contact with the Zigbee module (because you don't solder the Zigbee module to the PCB inside). So sometimes it helps you put a piece of foam or paper inside the RC-100 case to push the Zigbee module against the PCB to ensure good contact.

Regards
Pedro
Statistics: Posted by PedroR — Mon May 23, 2011 9:45 am

Hi Pedro!
Thanks for the reply.
I have already solved my problem as I found out, that my RC-100 is not working properly... Even if the zig-100 is installed inside the rc, the rc can not detect it, so it still uses the IR communication.
I have solved my problem with a CM-5 (zig-100 installed) and a CM-510 (zig-110 connected). The CM-5 transceiver (so the remote controller) and the CM-510 is the receiver (what is naturally mounted on the Bioloid robot as the CPU). Zigbee connection is working fine, like you said, I have paired the 2 zigs with the help of the RoboPlus software.
Thanks again for the reply!
Best regards,
José
Statistics: Posted by jozzi99 — Sat May 21, 2011 9:41 pm

Hi Jozzi99

Zigbee modules are usually PAIRED. It means they work in pairs ie you get two modules and the modules communicate with each other.

There is no third module involved.

So you get a Zigbee pair, put the module inside the CM-5, put the other module inside the RC-100.

Next you need to program the Robot to understand the signals from the RC-100.

I only know how to do this with Roboplus (not Behaviour control program) but samples to do it with Behaviour Control program should be available as well.

Please look in the documentation available in http://support.robotis.com . You will certainly find there the information you need.

I addition, if haven't bought the RC-100 yet, make sure you buy an RC-100 kit with Zigbee (and not RC-110 kit).
RC-110 (or Zigbee 110 pairs) are for Bioloid PREMIUM/CM-510. Zigbee 100 / RC-100 kits with Zigbee pair are for CM5.

Regards
Pedro
Statistics: Posted by PedroR — Thu May 19, 2011 3:44 pm

Hi!
I have read many posts of this subject, but it is still dark for me...
Please, someone tell me, what do I need, if I want to connect the RC-100 (zig-100 module mounted inside) with my CM-5 (also zig-100 modul mounted).
Do I need a third zig-100 connected to the PC with Zig2serial, or it can be done with only 2 of them?
How can I make them communicate with each other? - In which software can I do this?
Please, someone help me... My bachelors thesis is in danger...
Thanks,
Joseph.
Statistics: Posted by jozzi99 — Wed May 18, 2011 11:09 am
