It is powered from the adapter. It is looking like it might be the Prolific USB to Serial adapter that I got.

Absolutely true!

I have had very strange problems ("ghost" c program errors, wrong sensor values, ...) just a few minutes before I ran out of battery.

May be you have a problem with the cables, connections or even the PC not grounded

Have you tested it with other cables, PC/laptop,...?

In addition to the above, the controller firmware wizard appears to connect as it states the firmware version and the bootloader version - when I try to update it simply sits there at 0% of 46,907 bytes.

And now I tried again and it immediately shot up to 12% but then stopped.

Something odd is going on...

Ideas?

I am using a Windows 7 machine and connecting via a USB to serial converter purchased from Robosavvy - the port is found and is at 57,600 but cannot connect to the controller, giving an error message saying that it cannot connect. The controller simply has a green light above the power button and at no time can I get the indicators above the mode button to light up.

Is there a hard reset that can be performed on the CM-510?

Is there something that can be done to get this working?

I have used the Terminal program and it appears to connect, so I am not quite sure why I am having a problem with RoboPlus Manager.
