Burnt parts are never good... does the servo still run?

A fall or hard slam to a solid surface can easily damage a servo (voice of experience talking here). Sharp stresses often cause teeth to be cracked or lost on the final output gear. The broken parts can easily jam the drive train and cause excess friction and overloading.

Try turning the servo slowly by hand to see if it moves smoothly throughout its range. If you can feel a problem area then replace the unit.
Statistics: Posted by Fritzoid — Mon Jan 09, 2012 2:17 pm
