The Dynamixel Pros will be used on both THOR and THOR-OP. THOR will have them in its upper body and THOR-OP will use them for all of its joints.

THOR-OP is going to be a open hardware and software project which is very cool.

http://mike-ibioloid.blogspot.com/2012/ ... a-drc.html
Statistics: Posted by Gort — Tue Oct 30, 2012 3:28 pm

Hi,
Can anyone tell me the meaning of gear ratio like 502:1 ? Is that means output gear has 502 teeths and input gear has 10 teeths ?
I have plastic gears. Output has 36 teeths and input has 32. How much torque i will get ?
Statistics: Posted by MOHIT JINDAL — Tue Oct 30, 2012 11:10 am

Hi all

I've posted a scan of the Full Brochure of the Dynamixel line here http://robosavvy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=35721#35721

It seems there will be 3 types of actuators with varying torques up to ~400kgf.cm (39 Nm)!

Additionally the new line seems to support a new interface (CAN in addition to RS485) and, according to the brochure, introduces Torque based control.

This is a feature that we see requested from time to time and it seems these actuators will have it.

Regarding the Cycloid reduction gear there's not much on the brochures but there are some pictures that might help shed some more light on how it works.

Regards
Pedro
Statistics: Posted by PedroR — Mon Oct 15, 2012 12:54 pm

Its on robotis.com also. 2013 release. But they will sell it higher price. 1 pro = 1 bioloid premium kit I did google search. There is not much about Novel gear reduction system. What is it ? How it works ? How it is different from old gear box system ? Is it more powerfull than harmonic drive actuators ?
Statistics: Posted by MOHIT JINDAL — Fri Oct 12, 2012 9:49 am
