Hello Pedro and thanks for editing my post

I am using a small AVR microcontroller (ATtiny2313) to implement the Dynamixel protocol (meaning the protocol that the CM-5 unit uses to communicate with the other Dynamixel units, like the servos and the sensor unit)

The program (firmware) on ATtiny2313 is written with the demo version of BascomAVR and it's quite simple. You don't need to buy BascomAVR compiler, because the demo version is letting you program ATtiny2313 for free

After that, it's easyto write a program with RoboPlus software and use the custom unit just like any other Dynamixel unit.

P.S. If you wan't I can upload the program (firmware) for ATtiny2313 and how to write a program with RoboPlus
Statistics: Posted by arximidis — Fri Dec 07, 2012 10:00 pm

Hi Archimedes

I've embedded the video for you on your post (sorry about the posting restrictions for new users but they're the only . and still not 100% safe - way to keep spammers away).

Regarding your solution, are you implementing the Dynamixel protocol?

If so, what are you running on the Main Controller' Roboplus or custom C software?

Regards
Pedro.
Statistics: Posted by PedroR — Fri Dec 07, 2012 11:51 am

Hello

This is a simple homemade module, based on an AVR microcontroller, for the Bioloid.
It is allowing the robot to recognize when it has fallen down and then to get up.
It uses two mercury switches for that reason.
It's connected directly to the Bioloid's bus

The program is written with the demo version of BascomAVR and the microcontroller I am using is ATTiny2313

Sorry but I can't upload links (restricted access).
